Origin and genetics

Northern lights is undoubtedly one of the most famous strains in the world. With a heritage that consists of pure landrace strains, this beauty promises an experience like no other. The hybrid is a cross between the legendary Afghani Indica and the revered Thai Sativa. Together, these heirloom strains made an Indica dominant offspring (90-10) that has become the genetic foundation for numerous strains, such as Chronic, White Widow, and Super Silver Haze.

N.L has THC levels that range between 15% and 22%, while the CBD levels are very low at 0.10%. This top-shelf strain is much sought-after as a recreational and medical option alike. Dominant terpenes include Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Pinene.

Flavor, aroma, and appearance

Growing

The plants can thrive and produce decent yields indoors and outdoors. The N.L strain prefers a warm, moderately humid environment for optimum growth. Perhaps one of the many reasons cultivators love this hybrid is its high resistance to pests, disease, powdery mildew, and diseases. Due to its short and bushy stature, growers are advised to exfoliate the lower and middle leaves occasionally. This facilitates the free flow of air and allows the penetration of lights to all parts of the plant. After 7-8 weeks of flowering, Nothern lights produces 500-550grams/m². In an outdoor setup, growers can expect 650 grams per plant.
