Origin and genetics
The Diesel family of strains is one of the most sought cannabis varieties. They are famous for their distinct diesel aroma and flavor that add a unique twist to their terpene profile. Premium Diesel, a strain with Chemdawg genetics, is one of the family's newest members. Its one-of-a-kind genetic composition and effects have seen it break the barrier to becoming a celebrity strain beyond the area it was bred (Colorado). Premium Diesel is a Sativa dominant hybrid with 16 % to 19% THC and CBD less than 1%.
Flavor, aroma, and appearance
Premium Diesel has a similar flavor and aroma, characterized by fruity, berry, and sweet notes with diesel, fuel-like hints. The diesel aroma can be subtly detected throughout the plants’ flowering phase.
The strain grows to a maximum height of 170cm outdoors and 120cm indoors. The buds are thick and tightly packed, forming olive green clusters with orange pistils. The entire nug is covered in shimmering trichomes. Due to the high resin production, one may require a pair of scissors or grinders to break the buds apart.
Growing
This is a hard-to-cultivate strain that requires constant care and attention. Best-suited for experienced growers, Premium Diesel thrives in a hydroponic setup, although it can also do well with soil or coco coir. The plants may grow too bushy, requiring the occasional prune. This helps with efficient light penetration and airflow, which leads to increased yields. The flowering phase lasts 8-10 weeks. The final yield ranges between 500 and 600 grams/m² indoors and 700 grams per plant outdoors.
Effects
Premium Diesel is a creeper strain, meaning the effects take long before presenting. To avoid overconsumption, wait for 30 minutes before taking more tokes. The strain blends cerebral and body-centered effects to provide consumers with a happy, chill, and lazy high that lasts for up to 5 hours.
Medical benefits
Premium Diesel is an excellent medical strain that alleviates chronic pain, stress, and anxiety.
